Gaze for tracking user attention and supporting communication
Information on the focus of visual attention of the user is a key
element for attention tracking and for developing attention-aware
systems. The use of eyegaze in building such systems will be surveyed
and both possibilities and problems pointed out, to encourage discussion
on future applications of the technology.
Attention tracking that is based on eye gaze can speed up the interaction
and make it more natural for all users. For users with disabilities
it can be crucial. This presentation will also address the use of
eye tracking in COGAIN (Communication
by Gaze Interaction), a Network of Excellence in the IST programme
of FP6, which supports the development and dissemination of new
communication tools for users with severe motor disorders. |
