Monash library. Another Voyager library that has ITS personnel in the
library with high expertise. If they go to 'their' page they
automatically show what they have checked out/when due/what online
lectures are available...

BNF website(http://www.bnf.fr/fr/acc/x.accueil.html) is quite good
because you find easily the information needed, and it is aesthetic as
well.

Here's one opinion on federated search engines - ouch - he also has
ideas on library web design. It's true many federated search engines
don't work well and none that I've seen do what you really want yet.
"It may be the case that some libraries cannot afford Primo
<http://www.exlibrisgroup.com/category/PrimoOverview> , Summon
<http://www.serialssolutions.com/summon/> or equivalent, but why not?
If finances are so bad, and there's no other viable way, they should
get rid of a member of library staff and invest instead in improving
the services that are actually needed. The only thing worse than
having a poor federated/meta search service is having no cross-search
service at all"
